This goal is equally important for young children in child development centers and other preschool and child-care settings. Because of this, parents should really know the steps to prevent childhood obesity if they want to give their children a healthy social life.

Therefore, an important step for health care providers in addressing childhood obesity is to become aware of the status of ongoing obesity prevention initiatives in their communities and to interact with leaders of those initiatives to express and to offer their support.
